Detroit Ruin

description

Henry Ford transformed Detroit into the world’s capital of the automobile industry. For several decades it was a symbol of the American Dream, until increasing automation and the decentralisation of mass production led to a massive decline in its workforce and the captains of industry started to desert it in the 1950s. They left behind a city of magnificent ruins – which are as haunting to me now as they must have been in their hey day.
